LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS

Vs. Norfolk (11/24): Center Michael Cammalleri extended his scoring streak to 12 games with two goals as the Monarchs topped the Norfolk Admirals, 4-1, at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Wednesday night. Right wings Tom Kostopoulos and Dan Welch also found the back of the net for the Monarchs. Goaltender Mathieu Garon earned his 11th win of the season, stopping 33 shots. Left wing Quintin Laing was the only Admiral to get a shot past Garon. He scored midway through the third period. Admirals goaltender Adam Munro, who faced 20 shots, took the loss. Both teams were 1-4 on the power play.

Vs. Portland (11/26): Goaltender Adam Hauser recorded his third shutout of the season as the Monarchs skated to their ninth victory in a row, a 6-0 pounding of the Portland Pirates at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night. The Monarchs received goals from six different players: centers Matt Ryan and Michael Cammalleri, right wing Tom Kostopoulos and left wings Dustin Brown, Petr Kanko and Noah Clarke. Hauser stopped all 28 shots he faced and tied former Monarchs goaltender Travis Scott for most shutouts as a Monarch with 10. Goaltender Maxime Ouellet faced 32 shots and took the loss for Portland. Manchester went 1-7 on the power play and Portland was 0-4.

At Springfield (11/27): Center Matt Ryan scored his second consecutive game-winning goal as the Monarchs edged the Springfield Falcons, 4-3, in overtime on Saturday night at the Springfield Civic Center. Center Michael Cammalleri and left wings Noah Clarke and Dustin Brown also tallied for the Monarchs. Goaltender Adam Hauser, appearing in his first back-toback games this season, earned the win for the Monarchs by stopping 35 shots. Center Ryan Craig scored two goals and defenseman Harlan Pratt recorded his first goal of the year for the Falcons. Goaltender Jamie Storr took the loss for Springfield, stopping 27 shots. The Monarchs were 0-4 on the power play and the Falcons went 1-5.

At Lowell (11/28): Defenseman Tim Gleason scored his first two professional goals in the Monarchs 5-4 win over the Lowell Lock Monsters at Tsongas Arena on Sunday night. Defenseman Mike Weaver opened the scoring for the Monarchs with his first goal of the season. Center Matt Ryan and right wing Tom Kostopoulos also lit the lamp in the Monarchs victory. Goaltender Mathieu Garon made 31 saves for his 12th victory this season. Lowell goaltender Brent Krahn took his third loss of the season. Right wing Chuck Kobasew scored twice for the Lock Monsters. Manchester was 1-5 on the power play and Lowell was 2-4.

News & Notes

The Monarchs have won 11 straight games overall, nine straight at home and five straight on the road. The 11 straight wins overall and the nine straight home victories each represent new team records. The five-game road winning streaks equals a record first set by the Monarchs in 2002-03 (October 12 through November 10, 2002).

The Monarchs 11-game winning streak is the longest current winning streak in the American Hockey League. The Philadelphia Phantoms, who set a new league record with their 17th straight victory on Saturday night against the Hershey Bears, lost on Sunday to the Syracuse Crunch, 2-1.

The Monarchs have scored four or more goals in each of their nine home games this season. The Monarchs have scored five or more goals in eight of the nine contests.

The Monarchs lead the AHL with a .947 winning percentage (18-1-0-0).

The Monarchs lead the league with 18 wins.

The Monarchs have allowed only 33 goals to the opposition this season, a league low.

The Monarchs lead the AHL with 89 goals, 160 assists and 249 points.

The Monarchs 4.68 goals -per-game average leads the league.

The Monarchs 1.74 goals -against-per-game average leads the league.

The Monarchs lead the league with a 21.8 percent success rate on the power play (26 for 119). The Monarchs have scored at least one power play goal in each of their nine home games this season.

The Monarchs share the league lead with a home ice power play success rate of 27.0 percent (17 for 63).

After having no one-goal games in their first 13 contests this season, the Monarchs have skated in four one-goal games over their last six contests. The Monarchs have a record of 4-0-0-0 in the one-goal games.

Five of the league's top 10 scorers reside in Manchester. The list includes: center Yanick Lehoux, 14-19=33 (1st), center Michael Cammalleri, 17-15=32 (2nd), right wing Tom Kostopoulos, 10-18=28 (4th), left wing Dustin Brown, 11-13=24 (7th) and right wing Brad Smyth, 6-18=24 (9th).

Cammalleri, Lehoux and Smyth have scored in 17 of the Monarchs 19 games this season. Brown and Kostopoulos have scored in 16 of the Monarchs 19 games this season.

Lehoux and Smyth enter this week's action with nine-game scoring streaks. Lehoux, who leads the league in scoring (33 points), has five goals and 16 points (5-11=16) during his streak. Smyth, who ranks fifth in the league with 18 assists, has two goals and 14 points (2-12=14) during his streak.

Smyth has at least an assist in eight straight games (12 assists during the streak) and Lehoux has at least an assist in seven straight contests (9 assists during the streak).

Kostopoulos scored the game-winning goal in the Monarchs 5-4 win over the Lowell Lock Monsters on Sunday night.

Kostopoulos leads the AHL with five game-winning goals this season. He has 10 goals overall.

Cammalleri, who leads the AHL with 17 goals, had 14 goals and 25 points (14-11=25) during a recent 14-game scoring streak, and 10 goals during a recent seven-game goal streak. Both streaks ended when Cammalleri was held off the scoreboard on Sunday night against the Lock Monsters.

Cammalleri leads the AHL with eight power play goals.

Goaltender Mathieu Garon improved his record to 12-1-0 on the season with 31 saves against the Lock Monsters. He leads the AHL with four shutouts.

Garon, selected in the second-round (44th overall) by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft and acquired by the Kings from the Canadiens for Radek Bonk and Cristobal Huet on June 26, 2004, has 16 career shutouts in the AHL.

The 26-year-old Garon, a native of Chandler, Quebec, has a record of 21-1-2 in his last 24 AHL appearances. Garon's career record in the AHL includes 95 wins, 81 losses and 20 ties.

Garon shares the AHL lead with 12 wins. His save-percentage of .945 leads the circuit and his goals -against-average of 1.69 ranks second in the league.

Goaltender Adam Hauser nailed down his third shutout of the season with a 6-0 victory over the Pirates on Friday night.

With the shutout, Hauser, who had 28 saves in the win, tied former backstop Travis Scott (2001-03) for the most career shutouts in a Monarchs uniform with 10.

Hauser started back-to-back games for the first time this season on Friday and Saturday night. The 24-year-old native of Bovey, Minnesota, improved to 6-0-0 on the season with 35 saves in the Monarchs 4-3 overtime victory over the Springfield Falcons (Saturday night).

Defenseman Joe Rullier, the Monarchs all-time games played (216) and penalty minute leader (561), leads the AHL with a plus-21 rating. The fifth-round selection (133rd overall) of the Kings in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft also checks in at fifth among league defensemen with 76 penalty minutes.

Kostopoulos ranks second in the league with a plus-19 rating, left wing Noah Clarke rank third in the league with a plus-18 rating and Lehoux ranks fourth in the league with a plus-15 rating.

Defenseman Denis Grebeshkov, a first-round selection (18th overall) of the Kings in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, and defenseman Mike Weaver, who agreed to contract terms with the Kings on July 16, 2004, rank second only to Rullier among AHL defensemen with a plus-14 ratings.

Defenseman Tim Gleason, who had no goals in his first 83 games as a professional (47 with the Kings and 36 with the Monarchs) collected two goals against the Lock Monsters on Sunday.

Monarchs Events

Winter Coat Drive - The Monarchs have teamed up with E&R Cleaners for a Family Coat Drive. The Monarchs collected over 1,000 coats during Friday night's game against the Portland Pirates. E&R Cleaners will clean all of the coats this week before delivering them to local charities, including New Horizons, Manchester Community Resource Center and The Salvation Army.

Goals For Success - Right wing Dan Welch and left wing Noah Clarke will take the Monarchs Goals For Success message to the sixth grade students at Rundlett Middle School on Wednesday, December 1 from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m.

Wild Rover Pub Visit - Right wings Brad Smyth and Scott Barney, left wing Chris Schmidt and defenseman Mike Weaver are all scheduled to appear at the Wild Rover Pub in Manchester on Wednesday, December 1 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to stop by and visit with the players. Autographs and pictures are welcome.

Teddy Bear Toss - The Monarchs Care Foundation will host its Fourth Annual Teddy Bear Toss on Sunday, December 5 at 4:05 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena when the Monarchs host the Hartford Wolf Pack. Fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear or purchase a bear at the game from the Monarchs Wives Group. Teddy bears will be tossed onto the ice during the second intermission and then donated to local charities.
