Connecticut Whale News Release
A two and two weekend for the Pack ... the club lost 3-1 decisions in both Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday and Bridgeport on Friday. However, the team bounced back with a decisive 4-2 score over those same Penguins on Saturday at home, then trounced the Providence Bruins 6-0 on Sunday. The shutout was goaltender Jason LaBarbera's second of the year, and marked the first time this season the Pack had scored six goals. Blair Betts also tallied the club's first three-point night, with a goal and two assists. Chad Wiseman extended his assist streak last night. He's notched a helper in four straight games.
Starting the week, Steve Valiquette and Jason LaBarbera once again stand one and two atop the goaltender's standings, with averages of 1.52 and 1.61 respectively. The team has the second-best penalty killing average in the league at 91.92%, just a hair behind Milwaukee, which has a 91.96% rating.
