Wolves Calling All Toys

November 30, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves' wives will be collecting toys for the United States Marine Corps Reserve's "Toys for Tots" program during the month of December.

Fans who donate a new, unwrapped toy at Wolves homes on Sat., Dec. 4; Sun., Dec. 12; Wed., Dec. 15; Sat., Dec. 18; and Thu., Dec. 23 will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win lunch with Wolves left wing Karl Stewart and goaltender Michael Garnett.

"Until you've seen poor kids get toys, you don¹t know what living is," said Wolves Chairman of the Board Don Levin, who was honorably discharged from the Marines. During his tenure with the Marines, Levin drove the truck containing the toys at Christmas time.

The toy drive which is in its eighth consecutive season has been highlighted by donated items such as a skateboard, a tennis racket, and two Nintendo Game Boy systems.

The Marine Corps Reserve, social welfare agencies and local community agencies will be distributing the toys throughout December to the neediest children in the Chicago area.
