Pirates Send Lewis to South Carolina

PORTLAND, ME - Portland Pirates Head Coach Tim Army announced today that right wing Carlyle Lewis has been loaned to the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL). Lewis will not play in tonight's game for South Carolina against Augusta, but he will join the team tomorrow. After tonight's contest against Augusta, the Stingrays next game is Thursday, December 2 at Columbia at 7:30 p.m.

Lewis played in 13 games this season with the Pirates and registered just one assist in the Pirates game at Lowell on November 11th. The 26 year old was signed by the Portland Pirates as a free agent on August 29, 2004.

In 2003-04, Lewis spent last season playing for Columbus of the ECHL. While there he played in 71 games, scored 21 goals and picked up 18 assists, for a total of 39 points. He also racked up 181 penalty minutes with the Inferno.
