Monarchs Loan Zac Larraza to San Diego

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach, Rich Seeley, announced that Zac Larraza has been loaned to the San Diego Gulls (AHL).

Larraza, 22, played in 23 games for the Monarchs this season, scoring 20 points on 13 goals and seven assists. The first-year player was loaned to the San Diego Gulls on Jan. 13 and played in seven games, scoring two points on one goal and one assist.

This marks Larraza's fourth stint in the AHL, as he was previously loaned to the Portland Pirates (Nov. 12) and then loaned to the Milwaukee Admirals (Dec. 16). In 19 total AHL games, Larraza has tallied six points on three goals and three assists.

The 6-foot-2, 194-pound native of Scottsdale, Ariz. played collegiately at the University of Denver, appearing in 134 games over a four-year career, scoring 66 points on 35 goals and 31 assists. Larraza was a seventh round selection (#196 overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes.

The Monarchs are back in action Sunday, Feb. 14 (3 p.m.) when they host the Wheeling Nailers at the Verizon Wireless Arena for a Valentine's Day matinee.
