Cincinnati, OH - The Cincinnati Cyclones (22-19-3-2) have announced the acquisition of defenseman Jason Binkley from the Utah Grizzlies, in exchange for future considerations.
Binkley appeared in 43 games with the Grizzlies this season, accounting for a goal and six assists, along with 19 penalty minutes. Currently in his second professional season, the 5'9", 196-pound defenseman spent seven games with the South Carolina Stingrays at the end of last season, totaling a goal and an assist.
A native of Powell, OH, Binkley was a four-year letter winner at Ferris State University, appearing in 156 games for the Bulldogs, while potting eight goals and 60 assists, from 2011-2015. He helped lead Ferris State to a Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Regular Season Championship during his freshman season of 2011-12, and he also helped guide the Bulldogs to a berth in the 2012 NCAA National Championship Game.
