MAGIC NUMBER

The Monarchs magic number for clinching a playoff spot is down to 13 points. Manchester currently leads the North Division with 75 points, while the Worcester Railers are in fifth with 58 points. Any combination of 13 points in Monarchs wins and/or Railers losses, would result in a playoff berth for the Monarchs for the 16th time in 17 seasons.

WATCH OUT FOR THE ROOKIE

Norfolk's Grant Besse ranks second in the league among rookies in points this season with 59. Besse is the active ECHL leader in goals (28) and assists (31) for rookies through 57 games played this season for the Admirals. The Monarchs have managed to shut down Besse this season, allowing him to only score one goal and put up a team worst, -8 rating, in four games against Manchester.

BRINGING THE GOODS BACK HOME

The Monarchs are riding a league-high five-game road winning streak but have also dropped five straight at home dating back to Feb. 24. During that stretch, the Monarchs have been outscored, 21-7, at SNHU Arena and have allowed the first goal in all five of those games. In fact, the Monarchs have allowed the first goal in nine straight games, dating back to Feb. 18.

MORE OF THE SAME

Manchester will look to continue their success against the Admirals this afternoon, as they lead the season series, 4-0-1-0. Even more impressive, is the Monarchs have dominated the Admirals over the past five seasons, posting a record of 14-2-3-3, including going 8-1-1-1 at home against Norfolk.
