Brampton Beast News Release

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO - Tyson Wilson and Chris Leveille scored for the Brampton, but the Beast dropped a close game to Cincinnati by a score of 3-2.

The Brampton Beast took on the Cincinnati Cyclones live from the Powerade Centre on Sunday afternoon.

The Cyclones drew first blood with a goal from Justin Vaive at 10:28. He was able to convert on a pass from out of the corner to put the Cyclones up 1-0.

Brampton fired right back with a point shot blast from Tyson Wilson. Brandon Marino started the game by sending the puck to Jackson Leef on the half boards. Leef found Wilson, who one-timed a floating shot past Cyclones netminder Jason Kasdorf at 11:08.

With the game tied at one, Chris Leveille would beat the buzzer and give Brampton a 2-1 lead with his 17th of the year at 19:59. David Vallorani found Leveille with a perfect pass that the speedster ended up roofing past a sprawling Kasdorf.

The Beast would head to the first intermission up 2-1 and ahead by a shot count of 13-10.

The only scoring in the second period was a Cyclones breakaway goal by Shawn O'Donnell at 12:31. That tally tied the game up 2-2.

Both teams traded some chances as the period went on, but neither would find twine again as time ticked down and finally expired. Shots on goal after the second once again favoured Brampton to the tune of 25-16.

Cincinnati struck first in the third on the power play courtesy of a blast from Daniel Muzito-Bagenda. That gave the Cyclones a 3-2 lead at 9:13 of the third frame.

That would be all the scoring we would see in the third, as despite a furious late Brampton push, the Cyclones would hold on and secure themselves a 3-2 win in regulation.

Chris Driedger is tagged with the loss and made 20 saves through 60 total minutes of play.

Notes: Molson Three Stars 3) Kasdorf (CIN) 2) Wilson (BRA) 1) Muzito-Bagenda (CIN). The Beast finished the day by going scoreless on the power play. Cincinnati went one-for-five. The Beast next play Tuesday night in Kalamazoo against the Wings.
