Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
Two Crosscutters errors in the bottom of the 6th , lead to four Black Bears runs, as Williamsport fell 4-1 in the opening game at West Virginia.
Ben Aklinski was the lone Cutters hitter with two hits, finishing the night 2 for 4 with a pair of singles. Jesse Wilkening had the lone extra base hit, a rocket double to deep center in the 8th inning. Williamsport left seven runners on base and finished the night 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position.
Rafael Carvajal to a tough loss, allowing four runs, all unearned, over two innings of work. Colton Eastman got the start, going two scoreless innings in a piggyback start with Jack Perkins who tossed two scoreless frames. Abdallah Aris and Oscar Marcelino combined to throw two scoreless innings, striking out three.
Through the first two meetings, the Cutters and Black Bears are 5-5 against one another with two more meetings to go in 2018.
