
Spinners Bombard 'Cats in Series Opener

TROY, NY - The Lowell Spinners used 11 unanswered runs on Friday night to defeat the Tri-City ValleyCats by a score of 11-3 at Edward A Lelacheur Park in Lowell.
Tri-City jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning, before Lowell went on to score in each of the next four innings.
'Cats starter Felipe Tejada was tagged with the loss, allowing the Spinners to put up a four-spot in the fourth inning.
Juan Pablo Lopez then took over, allowing five runs in the middle innings, before Riley Cabral pitched the last two innings, allowing two runs.
The ValleyCats were only able to collect five hits offensively, with just one spread across the final five innings.
Now having lost their second straight game, the ValleyCats drop to 33-25, still leading the Spinners by 2.5 games in the Stedler division standings.
Tri-City and Lowell will play in Game Two of their three-game series on Saturday night, with first pitch coming at 6:35 p.m.
