London Rippers News Release

SCHAUMBURG, ILLINOIS - A sacrifice fly by Chad Mozingo in the bottom of the 10th pushed the Schaumburg Boomers to a rainy 3-2 win over the London Rippers (3-9).

Nick Kurocko led off the bottom of the 10th with a single and worked his way to 3rd after an error by Aaron Glaum and a sacrifice bunt, before scoring on Mozingo's sacrifice fly.

But London will look back at the missed opportunities in the late stages tonight.

The Rippers had a chance to score in the 9th when Jim Vahalik led off with a single and was got to 3rd on sac bunts by Josh Federico and Aaron Glaum, but Justino Cuevas flew out to left to end the inning.

London also loaded the bases with no one out in the 10th, but a strike out by the pinchhitter Mark Samuelson and a double play ended the threat with no runs scored.

London had a 2-0 lead in the 3rd from a Tony Delmonico walk followed by a Joash Brodin double that set up a ground-rule double by David Christensen.

A single run in the 4th and another in the 8th for Schaumburg on a Chad Mozingo single tied the game at 2-2.

Rippers' starter, Jamie Richmond, was solid again, pitching 8 innings and allowing only two runs on 8 hits. He walked two and struck out four.

David Francis (0-1) takes the loss, giving up one run in 1.2 innings of relief on one hit while striking out two.

London hits the road tonight to prepare for a three game series in Rockford. The Rippers and Riverhawks get started at 7:05pm Central Time tomorrow.
