Slammers Return Home Friday for Three Games

(Joliet, IL) - The defending Frontier League champion Joliet Slammers return home Friday for a three-game series with the Washington Wild Things.

Friday's 7:05 p.m. game is Country Night at Silver Cross Field. After the game is over fans will enjoy a spectacular fireworks show. The Slammers will send Hinsdale Central High School alum Eric Binder to the mound in the series opener.

Saturday's 6:05 p.m. game is Pirate Night at the yard. The first 1000 fans will receive a bandana and the entire night will have a very swashbuckling feel to it. After the game all kids get to run the bases. Naperville native Michael Perconte (son of Joliet native and former MLB player Jack Perconte) will get the start.

The series concludes on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. It's Cancer Survivors Day presented by the American Cancer Society. After the game all kids get to run the bases and the Slammers will stay late to sign autographs. Seniors 55 and older can get a reserved seat for only five dollars when they buy at the Box Office. Former Triple-A pitcher Tommy Mendoza gets the start.
