Missed Chances Lead To Loss

The Crosscutters went 1 for 11 with runners in scoring position, including the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th inning in their 3-1 loss to the Batavia Muckdogs

The Crosscutters lone run was unearned as Nicolas Torres scored from 2nd base on a throwing error.

Tom Sutera suffered the loss, allowing one run on two hits over four innings of work. The right hander surrendered a solo home run to Nic Ready to lead off the top of the 2nd inning.

Carlos Francisco allowed a pair of runs over two innings of work, giving up four hits, including back-to-back extra base hits that scored and set up both runs scoring in the top of the 6th inning.

Six different Crosscutters recorded a hit, totaling the six hits Williamsport collected in the loss. Batavia pitching combined to strikeout 14 Williamsport batters.

Williamsport falls to 1-4 at home this season, having scored just 10 runs at BB&T Ballpark through their first five home games.
