Aberdeen, MD - Thursday night was a doozy at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium. It looked ike a blowout in the fourth, got close again in the 7th, and both teams scored three runs in the ninth. It ended up with a 10-7 loss for the IronBirds in the series finale.

BIG MOMENTS

Tri-City had a big second and a bigger fourth. They scored three runs on two homers in the 2nd, including one for C.J. Stubbs that was his first professional hit. In the fourth they had just one hit but scored four runs.

Aberdeen's first runs came courtesy of Jaylen Ferguson who had a great series. He roped a two out two run homer over the left-centerfield wall to make it 7-2.

The 'Birds scored two in 7th as well thanks to two hits from Ian Evans and Tristan Graham.

Both teams had three runs in the 9th, Aberdeen's first three runners reached and scored but ultimately Tri-City held on for a 10-7 win.

NEWS & NOTES

Ferguson's homer was his second of the year, the only two for the IronBirds this year.

Aberdeen has now outscored opponents 12-1 in the 7th inning of games.

Through seven games, the 'Birds are 4-3 with a three game road trip on the horizon.
