WINNIPEG, MB – The CFL today named slotback Milt Stegall its Player of the Week in the offensive category for his stellar play against the Calgary Stampeders, Oct. 12 at McMahon Stadium.

Against the Stampeders, "Turtle Man" had six receptions for 106 yards and three touchdowns, one of which was the game-winning score. He not only helped his team gain a win that put Winnipeg into the playoffs but he also broke one CFL record and tied another.

Stegall set a new league standard for receiving touchdowns with 22, eclipsing the old mark of 21 set by former Calgary Stampeder Allen Pitts in 1994. He also tied former British Columbia Lions runningback Cory Philpot for most total TDs in a year with 22, which Philpot set in 1995.

The CFL Player of the Week honor is the third for Stegall this season, as he was also the winner in Week #5 and Week #15.
