New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
(NEW BRITAIN) - New Hampshire (40-53) earned a split of a day/night doubleheader with New Britain (39-52), taking the nightcap 7-3 before 6,045 Saturday night at New Britain Stadium. New Britain had won the afternoon contest, beating New Hampshire 13-4. In Game 2, RHP Mike MacDonald (8-5) earned his team-leading eighth win, allowing 3 ER in 6.1 IP, allowing 8 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. RHP Rodney Ormond finished up, working 2.2 scoreless innings to earn his third save. The Fisher Cats knocked New Britain starter Jay Sawatski (1-1) out in the 3rd inning. After the Rock Cats plated a run on a single by 3B Matt Moses (3-for-4, 3 RBI) in New Britain's first, the Fisher Cats bounced back with 4 runs on 5 hits in the second. Two of the runs scored on a single by SS Manny Mayorson (1-for-5, 3 RBI). DH Ryan Patterson and 2B Tim Olson each had three hits for New Hampshire in the win. The series concludes Sunday afternoon at 1;35pm with RHP Kyle Yates (5-6, 3.47) scheduled for New Hampshire against New Britain RHP Adam Harben (1-5, 3.86).
