Hershey Bears News Release
Norfolk comes to HERSHEY tonight for the final time in 2005-06 in the ninth of ten meetings between the two teams. The BEARS begin the night just six points out of first place in the East Division. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the team that has held the top spot in the division since opening night, travels to play in Philadelphia this evening.
Forwards Louis Robitaille and Joey Tenute made their NHL debuts Tuesday for Washington against the Florida Panthers. Both players, along with Mike Green and Jakub Klepis were assigned today to play for HERSHEY this evening. Washington plays at Philadelphia Friday and at home Saturday against Pittsburgh before taking a two-week break for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino.
The Admirals visit for the final time in 2005-06 to GIANT Center tonight. The BEARS will visit Hampton Roads one more time this year, with a game on Saturday, April 8. HERSHEY has a 3-4-0-1 record this season against Norfolk, having dropped the last decision on January 29 along HERSHEYPARK Drive.
HERSHEY begins the night with a 30-12-2-7 record, winning the club's 30th last time out on Saturday against Philadelphia. The 30 wins in 51 games marks the team's third fastest run to 30 victories in team history, eclipsed only by the 1987-88 club that won 30 of its first 50 contests and the 1945-46 team that won 30 of its first 49 games.
Tickets remain for tonight's game at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 508-BEAR. Tonight's game is also being carried live by the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM, 1490 AM and 960 AM) along with Pennlive.com and B2 Networks through HersheyBears.com. John Walton has the call of the action beginning at 6:40 p.m. tonight.
