Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, NY - The Binghamton Senators rallied from a 3-0 deficit, outshooting the Portland Pirates 19 to three in the third period, to claim a 4-3 overtime win on Brandon Bochenski's second goal of the night before a crowd of 4,287 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Portland, leaders of the Atlantic Division, built a 3-0 lead and scored only 19 seconds apart in the second period before the Binghamton rally began on a Jeff Heerema goal at 14:54 of the second.
Winger Brandon Bochenski then scored a power-play goal at 11:25 of the third period to cut the lead to one. Danny Bois followed that up with a beautiful back-hand goal to tie the game with less than five minutes remaining in regulation.
About halfway through overtime, Bochenski scored his second goal of the night to complete the comeback. He earned first-star honors for his efforts and figured on all of the Binghamton goals, finishing the game with four points (two goals, two assists).
Goaltender Billy Thompson was named the game's third star after stopping 36 of 39 shots. Nathan Marsters stopped 37 of 41 shots in the loss.
Binghamton returns to action on Friday night as they trek north on Interstate 81 to take on the Syracuse Crunch at 7:30 p.m. Follow the action live with Grady Whittenburg beginning with Countdown to Face Off at 7 p.m.
