Michigan Baseball Foundation Presents "Swing with the Loons"

The Michigan Baseball Foundation is proud to present the 2009 Swing with the Loons golf tournament, presented by the Apothecary Shoppe. The tournament will be held June 29 at Buck's Run Golf Club in Mt. Pleasant with a 10am shotgun start.

The registration fee includes a polo shirt, a boxed lunch on the course and a post-tournament dinner and reception with prizes and live auction items. The format is a four-person scramble and each team will be paired with players or coaches from the 2009 Great Lakes Loons team.

Since its founding in 2006, The Michigan Baseball Foundation has awarded over $200,000 in grants to charitable organizations that serve young people throughout the Great Lakes Bay region. In addition, Dow Diamond, the Loons, and ESPN 100.9-FM have created significant economic impact through job creation, local vendor spending, and visitor spending. To continue its economic and charitable impact and to meet its obligations as a public charity, MBF must raise annual funds from public support. This public support will facilitate the long term maintenance and improvement of Dow Diamond and allow MBF to continue to make positive impacts in the region. This year's major MBF fundraising event for 2009 is Swing with the Loons presented by The Apothecary Shoppe.

The Michigan Baseball Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and public charity, which was formed in 2006 to generate regional economic development through creative partnerships and grants and to enhance the efforts of regional organizations that serve young people. The Michigan Baseball Foundation owns and operates Dow Diamond, home of the Great Lakes Loons, a Class A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Foundation received its initial funding from The Dow Chemical Company Foundation, The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, The Dow Corning Corporation, The Rollin M. Gerstacker Foundation, The Charles J. Strosacker Foundation and The Bill and Linda Stavropoulos Foundation.
