Meyer Claimed Off Re-entry Waivers By New York Islanders

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that defenseman Freddy Meyer was claimed off re-entry waivers by the New York Islanders.

Meyer, 26, played in five games for the Coyotes this season since being claimed off waivers from the Islanders on Oct. 8. The 5-foot-10, 192-pound Meyer also recorded 0-2-2 and 12 penalty minutes (PIM) in 8 games with San Antonio this season.

For his NHL career, Meyer has collected 8 goals, 27 assists and 35 points as well as 71 PIM in 123 career games with the Philadelphia Flyers, the Islanders and the Coyotes.
