
Melzak Honored As All-Star

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that Matt Melzak has been selected for the audio broadcast of the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game. The 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light is on January 25th at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. The broadcast will begin at 6:45pm PST.
"I am very proud of Matt," said President Barry Soskin. "He is worthy of this privilege, and I know he will represent the Storm at the All-Star game with the same class and dignity he has shown here."
Melzak, a native of Toledo, has been the Director of Communications and Broadcaster for the Storm since the 2003-04 season. Matt will join Brian Clark of the Fresno Falcons, and Chris Stango of the Greenville Grrrowl for the broadcast with each doing one period of Play-by-Play, Analyst, and Ice Level Reporter. Prior to coming to the Storm, Melzak was the play-by-play voice of Bowling Green State University Hockey. Matt, a graduate of the University of Toledo, is the first broadcaster in Storm history to go to the All-Star game. "It is an honor for me to represent the Storm at the 2006 All-Star game. I have been very fortunate to be the voice of my hometown team for two plus seasons."
Melzak has also been a part of Toledo radio for many years, and currently is part of Face-Off the Hockey Show, and The Golf Show, which both air on Sportsradio 1470 the Ticket. Matt has also done some High School and College Football for the Buckeye CableSystem Sports Network (BCSN). He has also worked for 94.5 WXKR in his career.
