Augusta Lynx News Release

The Augusta Lynx have seen two key players recalled to the American Hockey League this week, as goaltender Mike Wall has been sent up to the Portland Pirates while all-star forward Nicolas Corbeil was loaned to the Lowell Lock Monsters.

The 23-year-old Corbeil leads the Lynx in scoring this season with 14 goals and 36 points, ranks second on the team with four power play goals and is third with eight power play points. Selected to his second consecutive ECHL All-Star Game this year, Corbeil tallied a 13-game scoring streak between November 30 and December 22, scoring nine goals and 24 points in that span.

Wall, meanwhile, was assigned to the Lynx by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on December 2, appearing in his first game action the next day stopping 21 shots in a 5-3 win over the Columbia Inferno. The 20-year-old rookie has gone 5-6-1 for Augusta with a 4.29 GAA and .865 GAA in 12 appearances.

Neither player is expected back in time for this weekend's action.

Augusta plays a pair of games at home this weekend to round out a five-game home stand before taking to the road for seven in a row. Friday night the Lynx face off against the South Carolina Stingrays and Saturday welcome the Greenville Grrrowl, with both games scheduled for 7:35 pm faceoffs. The Classic Stucco and Stone Pre-Game Show will commence one half-hour before game time on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630.
