Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors have acquired forward Chris Hodgson from the Phoenix Roadrunners for future considerations.
Hodgson, 21, is in his 2nd professional season. The Fredericton, New Brunswick, native has recorded a goal and an assist this season in 18 games with the Roadrunners. Hodgson recently completed a five-year major junior career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he spent two seasons with the Shawinigan Cataractes and three with Acadie-Bathurst Titan. In 193 major junior appearances, the 6-foot-3, 220- pound forward recorded 38 goals, 46 assists and 288 penalty minutes.
The Condors also suspended goaltender Mathieu Chouinard from the team for not reporting following yesterday's trade. Dennis Shiryaev was placed on the 7-Day Injured Reserve, and Jason Norrie was activated to the roster.
Bakersfield will visit the San Diego Gulls on January 13th, then travel north to Fresno to take on the Falcons on the 14th. The Condors return home to host the Florida Everblades on January 15th. All fans in attendance will receive a Condors Cheer Sign courtesy of Bright House Networks, Lennar Homes, Hot 94.1 and the Bakersfield Californian. Immediately following the game fans are invited downstairs to skate with the Condors. Participants are encouraged to bring their own skates, or skate rental will be available for $5 per pair, based on availability.
