Published on June 19, 2008 under Eastern League (EL1)
Trenton Thunder News Release
Despite just a 2-3 record with one game to go on the current road trip, the Thunder have added to their lead in the EL Northern Division. Trenton is now in first place by 4.5 games over Portland.
Thunder OF Austin Jackson is hitting his stride - the Yankee prospect homered in four straight games and is batting .400 with 4 HR and 8 RBI over his last five games.
It's time to crank things back up in Trenton as Binghamton (Mets) comes to town for a three game weekend series starting tomorrow night. The Mets are followed by Erie (Tigers) coming in for games next Monday through Thursday. Binghamton is five games behind Trenton (third place) in the EL North, while Erie is in third place in the EL South.
As we look a little further down the schedule, we see the big Independence Day Celebration on July 3. The popular Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox) are in town for the City of Trenton Fireworks... Make your fireworks plans now and get a great seat for the game and fireworks.
