
McNeely Returns to Stingrays; Morrison Recalled to Providence

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forward Tyler McNeely has returned to the team from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL) and goaltender Adam Morrison has been recalled to Providence.
McNeely, 25, skated in four games with the Bruins (AHL) adding one assist. The Burnaby, British Columbia, native is currently tied for the Stingrays team lead with 34 points (nine goals, 25 assists) in 38 games. Last season McNeely appeared in 66 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) grabbing nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points. Before moving into the professional ranks, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound forward spent four seasons at Northeastern University and served as team captain his junior and senior year.
Morrison, 21, is 1-6-2 with the Stingrays this season with a 4.07 goals-against average and .877 save percentage. Currently in his first professional season, the White Rock, British Columbia, native appeared in 55 games with the Vancouver Giants of the WHL last season going 35-16-3 with a 2.75 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage. Morrison was selected in the third round (81st overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
