Greenville, SC: Today the Road Warriors announced they will be hosting Hockey with Heart to benefit the American Heart Association on February 14th at 7 p.m. against the Wheeling Nailers.
The Road Warriors have teamed up with the American Heart Association in efforts to support the 2013 Heart Walk. Fans can be a Warrior for a great cause and purchase a $10 Red Level ticket with $2 from every sale donated directly to the American Heart Association. Any group that purchases 20 tickets or more will receive a Road Warriors hat for each member of their group! In addition, the person or group who sells the most tickets (with a minimum of 100 tickets sold) will receive one customized Road Warriors jersey!
"We are excited about the opportunity to work with the Greenville Road Warriors and grow awareness of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Eighty percent of heart disease is preventable and by working together we can make Greenville a healthier community", said Luci G. Givens, Development Director of American Heart Association, Mid-Atlantic Affiliate.
The first 1,500 fans will receive an American Heart Association branded sticker to show support for the cause. The Road Warriors will RED OUT the arena by encouraging fans to wear red attire on the night of the game in support of the American Heart Association.
"Hockey with Heart is a great opportunity to drive attention to a disease that affects one in four Americans," said Executive Vice President and General Manager Chris Lewis. "We are proud to partner with AHA and give back to the community."
The American Heart Association mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. A sign-up list for the 2013 Heart Walk will be available on the concourse. During the intermission, the American Heart Association will provide a Hands-Only CPR demonstration.
