Trenton Titans News Release
TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Philadelphia Flyers, have announced that rookie goalie Cal Heeter has been reassigned to the Titans by Adirondack (AHL). In separate moves, Kory Nagy and David Laliberte have been called up to the Phantoms.
Heeter, 24, is a rookie out of Ohio State. In 20 appearances this season, he has gone 7-11-1, with a 2.97 goals against and a .906 save percentage at Adirondack. The St. Louis native did make one ECHL appearance this year, stopping 30 in a 6-2, preseason win at Reading on October 6.
Nagy, a high-energy terror on the forecheck, was back for his third season with the Trenton organization (Devils/Titans), after spending last year with Albany (AHL). The Walsingham, Ontario, product played in 36 games for Trenton this year, scoring 15 points (3 G) and gathering 26 PIM. In 97 AHL games over three seasons with the Devils (Lowell/Albany), Nagy had 15 points (6 G), 43 PIM and a -16 rating. He was a fifth round selection (142 overall) by New Jersey in the 2008 NHL Draft.
Laliberte is no stranger to the Flyers organization. Originally drafted by the Flyers in 2004 (4th round/#124), he played in 182 games for the Philadelphia/Adirondack Phantoms, scoring 52 goals. He added six more goals in 47 additional games with Providence and Syracuse. During the 2009-10 season, Laliberte made it to the Flyers for 11 regular season games and one playoff game, getting two goals, one assist and eight PIM in that time. He appeared in five games this year for Trenton (1 G, 1 A, 2 PIM, -5).
The Trenton Titans returned in the 2011-12 hockey season after a five year hiatus and boasted a 26.1% increase in attendance over the previous year, the largest of any team in the (then) 20-team ECHL.
