INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Kansas City Mavericks (11-2-1-0) continued their winning ways over Wichita (5-7-3-1) with a 4-2 win Friday night at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.

The Dziurzynski brothers led the way in the victory, each registering two points on the night. Corey Durocher notched his first goal in his first game of the season, a power play strike in the second period that proved to be the game-winner. The win was the Mavericks' fourth over Wichita on the year, the third in the teams' four meetings over the last 10 days.

The Mavericks jumped on top halfway through the first period, brotherly love proving to be lethal once again as David Dziurzynski netted his seventh of the campaign with an assist from his little brother, Darian, 11:30 into the first. The away team tied the game before the horn, though, Mark MacMillan's first of the season to draw even at one through 20 minutes.

Wichita scored first in the second, jumping on top 2-1 with a power play goal from Pierre-Cedric Labrie to take a 2-1 lead. The Mavericks countered to the tune of two goals in 3:19, coming from Cliff Watson and Durocher as Kansas City took a 3-2 lead into the locker room.

The home team took the lone score of the final frame, Matt Robertson's fifth score of the season, a power play goal near the midway point of the period to provide a cushion and extend the lead to two.

The Mavericks return to action on Sunday, a road matinee at Tulsa at 4:05 p.m. and will return home next weekend for a pair of contests against the Oilers.
