The Mavericks host the Tulsa Oilers Friday night in the first of nine meetings this season between the teams. Tulsa is no longer in the same conference as the Mavericks, and is currently in sixth place in the Berry Conference with a 2-5-1 record. After starting the season 2-0-0, the Oilers have not won a game going 0-5-1 in their last six games. One of these two teams will end a losing streak as the Mavericks have also lost three straight games. Missouri is 5-2-2 all-time against the Oilers and 3-0-1 in their last four against Tulsa.

Saturday, November 6 - Missouri Mavericks vs. Wichita Thunder, 7:05 p.m. CST

Wichita has never defeated the Missouri Mavericks in 11 games. Missouri was 10-0-0 against the Thunder last season and Missouri won the first game this season over the Thunder, 2-1, at Independence Events Center. After losing their first four games of the season, the Thunder has won three straight games including an 8-0 win over Tulsa on Halloween. Wichita is currently in a tie for fourth place in the Turner Conference with six points and lead the Mavericks by one point in the standings.

WEEK IN REVIEW

Weekly Record: 0-2-0 Overall: 2-3-1

Friday, October 29 - Missouri 2 vs. Mississippi 5

The Mavericks were defeated by the Mississippi RiverKings Friday night, 5-2, in a battle at Independence Events Center in which the teams combined for 300 penalty minutes. This was the second time in a week the two teams faced off and it was apparent the six days the teams spent apart from each other were not enough. There were 30 fighting majors and 14 game misconducts which all occurred in the third period. Olivier Filion and Mike Berry had the two goals for Missouri who lost their second straight game.

Saturday, October 30 - Missouri 1 vs. Bossier-Shreveport 2

The Missouri Mavericks took the ice against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Friday night at Independence Events Center. Goaltending and defense dominated the first two periods of action, but the Mudbugs put their offensive puzzle together in the final period, scoring both of their goals in the final 10 minutes of action, winning 2-1 over the Mavericks. Mavs' goaltender Rob Nolan stopped 25 of 27 shots in the loss and Mudbugs' goaltender John DeCaro made 27 saves on 28 shots in the victory.

Promotions & Notes

Goalie leader - Goaltender Rob Nolan is atop the leaderboard amongst goalies in the CHL. The first-year Maverick has a 1.46 GAA this season leading all goalies, but he is 0-1-1 in two games played. Nolan has stopped 46 of 49 shots, but has lost two games by a score of 2-1 including a shootout loss.

Three straight losses - The Mavericks have lost three straight games after starting the season 2-0-1. The losing streak is tied for the second longest streak in team history. The team's longest losing streak is five games when they started last season 0-5-0, but the Mavericks have not lost more than three games straight since that time.

Record PIMs - The Mavericks and RiverKings game on Friday night set a Mavericks' team record for penalty minutes in a game with 300 combined minutes and 150 team minutes.

Homestand ends - The Mavericks will close out their four-game home stand this weekend with a pair of games at Independence Events Center. Missouri has played five of their first six games at home to date and starts the season with seven of eight at the IEC.

Scoring woes - The Mavericks have scored more than two goals just twice this season in six games. Missouri scored five goals on opening night in a 5-2 win over Odessa and four goals in a 5-4 loss to Mississippi.
