Mavericks Add Two Players to Injured Reserve
December 13, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Kansas City Mavericks News Release
INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - Missouri Mavericks' Head Coach Scott Hillman announced Tuesday the Central Hockey League (CHL) team has placed both forward Nathan O'Nabigon and defenseman Cole Ruwe on the 10-day injured reserve (IR). Forward Vern Cooper has also been moved from the 10-day IR to the 30-day IR, and forward Kris Hogg remains on the 14-day IR.
O'Nabigon had surgery Tuesday for an undisclosed upper-body injury. Ruwe has been placed on the 10-day IR retroactive to December 2. Cooper was moved from to the 10-day IR to the 30-day IR retroactive to November 23.
"This is the toughest situation we have been in on the ice as an organization, but we will find the positive and use this as another tool to improve as a team," said Hillman. "Players will continue to develop and we will be stronger for it in the end. We are working very hard to find replacements for these players."
The Mavs are back in action this Friday, December 16 as the Quad City Mallards visit Independence Events Center in the first part of a home-and-home weekend set between the Mavs and Mallards.
