Matt Leitner and Colin Stevens Recalled by Springfield

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that Matt Leitner and Colin Stevens have been recalled by the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL).

Leitner, 25, leaves Manchester as the top point-scorer for the Monarchs this season. In 10 games, Leitner recorded nine points on one goal and eight assists, adding nine penalty minutes.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound native of Los Alamitos, Calif., has logged 16 career games in the AHL between the Milwaukee Admirals and Ontario Reign, and recorded four points on four assists.

Stevens, 23, heads to Springfield for the first time this season, and brings with him a 2-2-0-0 record, a 2.33 GAA and a 0.888 save percentage. The goaltender out of Union College is in the second professional season in his career.

The 6-foot-2, 181-pound native of Niskayuna, N.Y. was recalled by the Portland Pirates (AHL) three times during the 2015-16 season, but did not appear in a game.

The Monarchs are back on the ice Friday, Nov. 11 (7:30 p.m.) when travel to Norfolk, Va. to take on the Norfolk Admirals for the first time this season.
