LOVELAND, CO. - Eagles forward Jesse Mychan scored two goals as the Eagles rallied for a 4-3 victory over the Allen Americans at the Budweiser Events Center on Wednesday. Mychan now sits atop the ECHL leaderboard with nine goals on the year, while Colorado jumps back into first place in the Mountain Division with the victory.

Mychan got the Eagles off to an early start when he spearheaded a short-handed rush and wristed a shot from the right circle past Allen goaltender Riley Gill to give Colorado the 1-0 advantage just 3:46 into the contest.

The Americans would retaliate with a pair of late goals in the opening frame, as forward Matt Willows capitalized from the side of the net on an Allen power play at the 17:46 mark to knot the game at 1-1. Just over one minute later, forward Greger Hanson deflected a shot from the point into the back of the net to give the Americans the 2-1 lead after 20 minutes of play.

The Eagles would tie things up at the 5:41 mark of the second period when rookie forward Cole Sanford dragged the puck through the low slot and lifted it past Gill to square the contest at 2-2. Once again, the Americans would answer back, as forward Jake Marchment jammed in a puck just 41 seconds later to give Allen the 3-2 edge.

Moving into the third period, Colorado would quickly strike back when defenseman Sean Zimmerman bulled his way down the right wing and centered the puck to Mychan who would bash it past Gill and tie the game at 3-3 with just 25 seconds gone in the final period of regulation.

Colorado would find themselves on a power play at the midway point of the third period when defenseman Matt Register unfurled a slapshot from the left circle to light the lamp and give the Eagles the 4-3 lead. Allen would pull Gill in favor of the extra attacker, but Colorado would thwart the effort and hold on for the 4-3 win.

Nathan Lieuwen claimed the win in net, stopping 21 of the 24 shots he faced in the contest.

Colorado closes out its five-game homestand as the Eagles host the Rapid City Rush on Friday, November 11th at 7:05pm MT.
