ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - The Alaska Aces scored three times in the second period, outshot Indy 47-29 and skated past the Fuel 5-1 Wednesday at the Sullivan Arena.

Aces goaltender Michael Garteig stopped 28 shots and raised his won-lost record to 5-0.

After a scoreless first period that saw Alaska outshoot Indy 18-9, the Aces finally broke through at the 3:09 mark of the second. Defenseman Steve Tarasuk snuck down the right boards and was in the right place when the puck found him at short range and he banged in the rebound of his own shot past Fuel goaltender Eric Levine. Nolan Descoteaux and Stephen Perfetto got assists.

The eventual game-winning goal came at 15:47 of the second. Peter Sivak scored his 7th goal of the season as Perfetto zipped a perfect pass to him from behind the Indy net. Sivak one-timed it for a 2-0 Aces lead.

At 17:31, Tim Wallace dug a puck out of the corner finding Tommy Olczyk deep in the right circle. Olczyk deked and feather a perfect pass to a wide-open Tim Coffman. Coffman buried the puck for his team-leading 8th goal of the season.

In the third period, Indy's Kevin Lynch scored at 1:10 to make it a 3-1 game, but Alaska tallied again at 4:37 with Nolan Descoteaux's second goal of the season. Perfetto received the single assist.

The game was sealed with Justin Breton's empty-net goal at 18:22 from Sivak and Perfetto.

Perfetto's four assists are an Aces season-high.

Alaska was 0-3 on the power play...Indy was 0-2.

The Aces and Fuel will play again Friday and Saturday nights at the Sullivan Arena.
