Indy Fuel News Release
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - The Alaska Ace's offense would prove to be too much for Indy to overcome in their first of three road games in Anchorage as the Fuel (2-6-1-0) fell to the Aces (6-2-0-0) 4-1 Wednesday night at Sullivan Arena.
After a scoreless 20 minutes which featured 18 saves by Fuel goaltender Eric Levine, the Aces scored three consecutive goals in the second period. Defenseman Steven Tarasuk connected after 3:09 minutes of play, followed by goals from forwards Peter Sivak and Tim Coffman. The last two second period goals marked the fourth consecutive game Sivak has scored and the third consecutive game Coffman has scored.
Forward Kevin Lynch put the Fuel on the board early into the third period with his third goal of the season. However, the high-flying Ace offense was not finished as Nolan Descotaux scored after 4:37 minutes of play in the third period and Justin Breton connected on an empty net goal. The disparity in shots mirrored the scoring as Alaska recorded 47 shots to Indy's 29.
Thursday night's loss marks the seventh consecutive loss by the Fuel. Conversely, the Aces are riding a four-game winning streak. Indy hopes to bounce back in the second game of their Alaskan expedition when they face the Aces again on Friday at 11:15 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast live on the Fuel radio home of CBS Sports 1430 beginning at 11:00 p.m.
Indy returns home Friday, November 18 to begin a 4-game home stand when they host the 2016 Kelly Cup runners-up, the Wheeling Nailers. This game is slated for a 8:00 p.m. puck drop.
Next Home Game: Friday, November 18 vs. Wheeling Nailers - 8:05 p.m. All Church groups are invited for a special night of fellowship and Fuel hockey. Enjoy a free pre-game concert outside of Indiana Farmers Coliseum, and take a shot on the ice after the game. In addition, Fuel players and staff will lead a post-game devotion. Friday is also a Fuel College Night presented by Moe's Southwest Grill - pick up a ticket, $5 towards concessions and $5 Moe's Bucks for $20 with a valid college ID.
