Mathews Ties Tobs Record

WILSON N.C.- The Wilson Tobs are proud to announce that current Tobs center fielder Ryan Mathews has tied the Wilson Tobs single-season (Coastal Plain League Era) Franchise Record for Homeruns. Mathews a red-shirt junior from North Carolina State University, connected with a 1-2 pitch from Edenton's Eddie Perkins, and sent the ball sailing over the left field wall at Historic Hick's Field in Edenton on Tuesday Night. Mathews has now hit four homeruns against Edenton this season. The homerun brought Mathews' total to 12 homeruns for the year tying him with Erik Lovett ('07) for the most in Tobs Franchise History. That total (12) also leads the CPL this season.

Mathews will try to break the record tonight in Wilson as the Peninsula Pilots come to Fleming Stadium at 7:05pm. For Tickets call (252)- 291-TOBS (8627).
