MasterCard Presents Opening Weekend

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, will open the 2004-05 regular season, their fourth in Bridgeport and fourth as the Islanders' top affiliate, with a pair of home games at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard this weekend. The Sound Tigers will host the Albany River Rats this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and the Philadelphia Phantoms this Sunday at 4:05 p.m.
All opening-weekend festivities will be presented by MasterCard.
Children under 14 will be admitted free and there will be post-game family skates on both Saturday and Sunday. There will also be clowns to entertain fans and face-painting for all fans at both games.
On Saturday, the hockey band The Zambonis will be performing on the plaza outside the arena before the game. There will also be a pre-game fireworks show, and the first four-thousand fans who enter the game will receive a free Sound Tigers magnet schedule.
