
Bears fall in season opener in Norfolk 3-2

Jim Vandermeer scored the game winning goal for Norfolk midway through the third period as the Admirals edged HERSHEY 3-2 at Norfolk Scope Friday night.
Highlights for the BEARS (0-1-0-0) included the first professional point of Johnny Boychuk's career. Andre Savage and Chris Bala scored their first goals of the season, and Tom Lawson made 30 saves in his first appearance of the season.
HERSHEY will look for revenge at GIANT Center Saturday night when they host Norfolk for the club's 67th AHL home opener. Face-off is at 7:00 p.m.
