
Maruszak and Schmidt Received, Romine Activated

Trenton Thunder News Release
(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have received RHP Josh Schmidt and UTIL Addison Maruszak from Triple A Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre and C Austin Romine has been activated from the Temporarily Inactive List. In corresponding moves, C Ryan Baker and OF DeAngelo Mack have been placed on the Disabled List and RHP Alan Horne has been released. The moves leave the Thunder roster at its maximum of 24 active players.
Schmidt will return to Trenton after spending a month with the team from early May to early June. The righty appeared in 15 games and was 2-2 with a 1.59 ERA and six saves. In 13 games with the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre this season, Schmidt is 3-2 with a 2.84 ERA.
In 62 games with the Thunder this season, the utilityman Maruszak is hitting .212 with three homeruns and 22 runs batted in. The Pinellas Park, FL native has played primarily at first base but has made his professional debut at catcher and the outfield this season.
Romine was placed on the Temporary Inactive List in order to participate in the 2011 XM Futures Game at Chase Field in Phoeniz, AZ on Sunday. In his second straight appearance in the game, Romine was 2-2 at the plate, driving home the go-ahead run for the United States squad in their 6-4 victory over the World team.
The Thunder start the second half of the 2011 season with a seven-game homestand at Waterfront Park that begins Thursday night at 7:05 PM with game one of a four-game set with the Reading Phillies. The Thunder will give the start to LHP Shaeffer Hall (6-4, 4.05), while the R-Phils will counter with RHP J.C. Ramirez (7-8, 3.70).
