New Britain Rock Cats News Release

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats made three roster moves yesterday, coming out of the 2011 Eastern League All-Star break.

The details:

LHP Tony Davis, a 23-year-old relief specialist out of the University of Florida, has been placed on the club's Disabled List due to discomfort in his left elbow. The 5'11"/185-pound southpaw had made 17 appearances for the 2011 Rock Cats, and goes on the shelf with a mark of 2-2 and 2.57 ERA. He was a 12th Round pick of Minnesota's in the 2009 Draft;

LHP Andrew Albers, a 25-year-old native of Saskachewan, Canada, has joined the Rock Cats from Ft. Myers in the Florida State League. Selected out of the University of Kentucky in the 16th Round by San Diego in 2008, Albers was signed by Minnesota as a free agent in 2010. He appeared in 22 games for the 2011 Miracle and posted a 4-1 record with a 1.55 ERA over 52.1 innings of work in Florida.

INF Estarlin de los Santos, the switch-hitting native of the Dominican Republic who has been on New Britain's Disabled List since Opening Day of this year, has been transferred to Ft. Myers in the Florida State League. The promising middle-Infielder has been sidelined with an elbow strain in his throwing arm. It is expected that his rehabilitation will now accelerate in Florida.
