TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Bowie Baysox will meet in game two of a four-game series...The Baysox scored seven unanswered runs including plating five runs with two outs in an inning as Bowie took the series-opener from the Flying Squirrels 7-2 on Thursday night in front of 2,098 fans at Prince George's Stadium.

SOCKED IN BOWIE: The Flying Squirrels enter tonight's game in Bowie with a 2-8 mark at Prince George's Stadium...Eight of the previous 10 games played between the two teams in Bowie have been decided by three runs or less...Last night's 7-2 to loss for the Flying Squirrels was its first by more than three runs in Bowie...Five of the Flying Squirrels eight losses to the Baysox at Prince George's Stadium have been by one run and the club has had a lead in seven of the eight defeats...Overall, Richmond is 6-13 against Bowie this season...Last season, the Flying Squirrels went 16-13 against the Baysox including a 7-7 mark at Prince George's Stadium...The Flying Squirrels are out of second place for the first time since 6/23 (17 games/20 days).
MO-MENTUM: Catcher Johnny Monell has a five-game hitting streak, his third hit streak of five games or more...His longest hit streak of the season is six games (5/22-5/27)...Monell is batting .378 (17-for-45) with a double, two home runs, nine RBIs, and nine runs scored over his last 17 games...He has walked 11 times and has struck out 10 times over that span...The 25-year-old has raised his batting average from .224 to .251 over his last 17 contests...Monell is 6-for-13 (.462) with runners in scoring position over that stretch with seven RBIs.
THE GEORGIA PEACH: Second baseman Charlie Culberson went 2-for-4 last night including a two-out, two-run homer, his seventh home run of the season...It was the 21st multi-hit game for the 22-year-old, second-most on the club...Over his last 17 games, Culberson is batting .333 (22-for-66) with six doubles, three homers, nine RBIs, and 10 runs scored...He has raised his batting average from .248 to .264 over that span.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Flying Squirrels are in the middle of a stretch where they are playing 14 of 20 games on the road...The club recently completed a stretch where it played 19 out of 26 games at home, going 16-10 overall including an 13-6 mark at home...The club is 32-17 overall at home and is batting .261 in 49 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.57 runs per game at home (224R/49G)...Overall, the club is 15-25 on the road, and is batting .207 and averaging 3.30 runs per game (132R/40G) in 40 road contests.
PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 3.06 ERA through 89 games and has allowed a league-low 318 runs...Richmond's pitching staff has allowed two runs or less in 34 of its 89 games (38%)...Starting pitching has allowed three runs or less in 64 of the team's 89 games (72%) and the club is 42-22 in those contests...The club's 3.06 ERA is the lowest among all of the full-season MiLB teams.
