Marsh added to All-Star Game
December 29, 2004 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Colorado Eagles News Release
WINDSOR, CO â The Central Hockey League announced the additional roster spots for both the Northern and Southern Conference for the 2005 CHL All-Star Game held in Laredo, Texas on January 12, 2005. Colorado Eagles right winger Kevin Marsh was added as a non-starter along with 12 other players from the Northern Conference.
In his rookie season, the 5'11", 201 pound forward has been an outstanding addition to the Eagles roster thus far. Marsh is in the top five in nearly every statistical category for rookies in the Central Hockey League. He is third on the team in points with 26 (14G, 12A) in just 24 games played. As a non-starter, Marsh was selected by the CHL hockey operations department.
"I am extremely happy at the three selections we have received for the upcoming All-Star Game," explained coach Chris Stewart. "Although there is a lot of disappointment to see that caliber players like Brad Williamson, Riley Nelson, and Ryan Tobler couldn't make the team."
Marsh, a native from Ardrossan, Alberta played for the University of Alberta and is ninth on the all-time scoring list with 251 points. He won the National Championship with the Bears in the 1999-00 season, and played two games with the Houston Aeros in the IHL at the end of last season.
He is the second Eagles rookie selected to the 2005 All-Star Game. Marsh will join rookie goaltender Tyler Weiman who was selected last week to start in net for the Northern Conference. He is also joined by right wing Greg Pankewicz, also selected to start in the game, and making his second consecutive CHL All-Star Game appearance.
