Stars Shine Bright for Tetrault, Beaudry

December 29, 2004 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
New Mexico Scorpions News Release

ALBUQUERQUE – For the third consecutive season, the New Mexico Scorpions will have two representatives at the annual Central Hockey League All-Star Game. Defenseman and team captain Daniel Tetrault along with goaltender Miguel Beaudry will represent the Scorpions as reserves on the Northern Conference team on Jan. 12 in Laredo, Tex. as announced today by Northern Conference coach Chris Stewart of Colorado and the CHL's Hockey Operations department. The starters were chosen last week in balloting among CHL coaches, broadcasters and media members.

Tetrault currently leads all Scorpions defenseman and ranks fifth among CHL rearguards with 18 points (3g-15a). This will be the fourth CHL/WPHL All-Star appearance for the La Broquerie, Manitoba native, as he attended the midseason classic as a member of the Austin Ice Bats in 2001, 2002 and last year's game in Albuquerque, shortly before his trade to the Scorpions.

Beaudry makes his first All-Star appearance in just his second professional season, both of which have been spent with the Scorpions. The Verner, Ontario native is second in the CHL this season with 1321 minutes played and third with 687 saves. For the season, Beaudry has an 11-8-3 record with a 2.73 goals against average and .920 save percentage. He is the fourth Scorpions goaltender to be selected to an All-Star Game and the first since Steve Debus in 2001.

"We're very happy that two deserving players like Daniel and Miguel have been selected to the All-Star Game," said Scorpions Head Coach/Assistant General Manager Bill McDonald. "While we have several other players who are worthy of being All-Stars this season, Daniel and Miguel have been very important to our success so far this season and it's great to see them recognized by the league."

Information is available on the 2005 CHL All-Star Game in Laredo by calling the Laredo Bucks at (956) 718-BUCKS [2825] or visiting either the Bucks' website at www.laredobucks.com or the CHL's website at www.centralhockeyleague.com.
