Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release

HIDALGO, TX: December 29, 2004 – The Central Hockey League announced the starting members of the Southern Conference and Northern Conference squads for the 2005 Dodge CHL All-Star Game last week and today announced the remaining members to fill the rosters for the contest and selected from the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees was Jason Tessier. Tessier will join the Southern Conference squad in Laredo on Tuesday, January 11th for the CHL Skills Competition and the All-Star Game will take place January 12th.

"Jason deserves the opportunity to display his skills to the rest of the CHL," said Killer Bees Head Coach and Hockey Operations Director Tracy Egeland. "He has been a consistent player for us and is an important part of our core of defensemen."

Tessier was selected to the roster by Southern Conference head coach Chris Dashney of the Lubbock Cotton Kings in conjunction with the CHL's Hockey Operation Department. Tessier ranks second amongst Southern Conference defensemen in goals with 6 and is tied for second amongst Bees defensemen in scoring with 12 points. Three of his six goals are power play goals, which ranks second on the Bees roster. Tessier has also fired off 82 shots on goal, which is third in the league amongst Southern Conference defensemen, and ranks fifth in penalty minutes among Southern Conference blueliners with 51 minutes.

The trip to Laredo will mark the second time Tessier has attended an all-star game.
