Marlies Present Tomas Kaberle Bobblehead Day On Sunday

October 24, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Toronto Marlies News Release

A proud member of the American Hockey League, the Toronto Marlies will hold their first of 10 bobblehead days of the season on Sunday, October 26, when they host the Houston Aeros - AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild - in a 4:00 p.m. contest at Ricoh Coliseum. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a Tomas Kaberle bobblehead when they enter through the gates.

Current Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman, Tomas Kaberle, became a Leaf when he was selected 204th overall in the 1996 Entry Draft. In 688 career games with the Maple Leafs, he has registered 404 points (70 goals, 334 assists) and 198 penalty minutes and a plus-51 rating. Last season he was the Maple Leafs representative at the 2008 NHL All-Star Game in Atlanta.

The Marlies will wear their alternate, Duke The Dog jersey for the first time on Saturday when they host the Quad City Flames - AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames - at 4:00 p.m. The third jersey is a more fun, contemporary looking alternate sweater. It features a new look for Duke the Dog whose appearance aligns with the team's game identity - tough and gritty, combined with fast-paced action and an emphasis on family fun. The sweater, made from the technologically-advanced lighter Reebok fabrics, retains its strong connection with its parent club with Leafs patches on the shoulders.

Both games this weekend will air live on Rogers TV Cable 10 in Toronto and 63 in Scarborough. Fans can listen to all Toronto Marlies regular season games on THE FAN 590 or fan590.com.
