Adirondack Phantoms News Release

HARTFORD - Trenton native Bobby Sanguinetti scored 5:43 into the third period to give the Hartford Wolf Pack a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phantoms on Friday night at the XL Center. Goaltender Miika Wiikman made 30 saves in securing the win for Hartford.

The Wolf Pack took a 1-0 lead exactly five minutes into the first period on their first power play of the game. A puck was played from the point down to Tommy Pyatt at the bottom of the right-side circle. He found P.A. Parenteau open in the slot, and Parenteau beat J.S. Aubin to the glove side for the early advantage.

After a scoreless second period, the Phantoms tied it up 3:57 into the third with a power play goal of their own. Steve Downie measured up a shot from the top of the circle that nipped Boyd Kane before catching the stick of Hartford defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti and going past Wiikman. Kane was credited with his first and it was tied 1-1.

But Sanguinetti redeemed himself less than two minutes later. He was coming off the bench when Brodie Dupont slid a puck into the high slot. Sanguinetti descended upon it and beat Aubin with a wrister to give the Wolf Pack a 2-1 lead they would not relinquish.

Wiikman earned the game's first star with his performance, while Aubin played well in stopping 22 of 24 while absorbing the loss.

The Phantoms head to Albany for a matinee with the River Rats on Saturday afternoon at 1:00. Philadelphia returns home on Sunday, Nov. 2 for a tilt with the Hershey Bears at 5:05. Tickets for that game, as well as all 2008-09 regular season games, are available by calling 1-800-298-4200 or visiting phantomshockey.com.

Comcast-Spectacor recently announced that the Wachovia Spectrum will close after the Phantoms conclude their 2008-09 season. The Spectrum opened on September 30, 1967 with the Quaker City Jazz Festival. After nearly 30 seasons of Philadelphia Flyers hockey and Philadelphia 76ers basketball, the Spectrum gave way to the Wachovia Center in 1996.

The best way for fans to secure a ticket for the final game on April 12, 2009 is to purchase either a game plan package or season tickets. Packages are available now in convenient blocks of 6, 10, 16 and 20 games, as well as pro-rated full season tickets for all remaining home games. All packages receive an impressive list of exclusive benefits, discount prices and the same seat for each game, beginning at just $60!
