Portland, ME - Tyler Bouck's goal late in the third period completed the Portland Pirates come from behind victory over the Sound Tigers, 4-3. Tim Jackman, Andrew MacDonald and Mike Iggulden had the goals for the Sound Tigers in their second loss of the season.

It took the Sound Tigers only 1:18 to open the scoring in the first period as Jackman capitalized on a turnover in the Pirates zone, scoring his second goal of the season. Portland captain Bouck picked up the puck behind his own net and tried to send an outlet pass through the middle of the ice. Jackman intercepted and skated in alone on Pirates' net-minder Adam Dennis, wristing the puck through his legs for the 1-0 lead. MacDonald would make it 2-0 in favor of the Sound Tigers about ten minutes later when he fired a slap shot from the point that went off the right post and in for his second tally of the season. Kurtis McLean and Brett Skinner assisted on the goal coming on the power-play.

At the start of the second period, the two teams traded power-play goals within two minutes of each other. Portland struck first when Boston College graduate Nathan Gerbe scored his third marker of the season on a slap-shot from the right circle. Tim Kennedy and Tyler Bouck had the assists on Gerbe's rookie league leading third power-play goal of the season. Iggulden would answer for the Sound Tigers just 32 seconds later for his team leading fifth tally this season. Skinner set the power-play in the offensive zone and fed a pass down low to Trevor Smith. Smith put the puck back on Skinner's stick where he quickly found Iggulden in the left circle. Iggulden grabbed the pass and snapped the puck over Dennis' glove giving the Sound Tigers the 3-1 lead. Just over two minutes later, Portland would cut the Sound Tigers' lead to one when Chris Butler was fed a pass from Derek Whitmore in the high slot and wristed the puck over Danis' left shoulder making the score 3-2. Dylan Hunter also had an assist on Butler's first professional goal of his career.

The third period belonged to the Pirates as they scored twice to tie and then win the game. Mark Mancari would tally the first goal in the final period of regulation for Portland on assists from Matthew Darche and Marc-Andre Gragnani to make the score 3-3. With less then three minutes to play in the game, Tyler Bouck would score his third of the season on a broken play from the neutral zone. Hunter chipped a puck out of his defensive zone along the right boards where Bouck picked it up and shielded Sound Tigers' defenseman MacDonald from the puck. MacDonald looked to have him shielded to the corner until Bouck back-handed a shot over Danis to complete the Portland comeback and win the game for the Pirates 4-3.

Danis finished the game with 23 saves on 27 shots, while Dennis turned aside 33 shots. The Sound Tigers were 2-for-8 on the man-advantage while Portland was 1-for-5. The loss drops the Sound Tigers' record to 4-2-0-1.

The Sound Tigers will travel to Worcester, Mass. tonight to face-off against the Sharks at 7:05 p.m. The next Sound Tigers' home game is scheduled for next Sunday, Nov. 2 when the Sound Tigers take on the Albany River Rats. Face-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. Tickets are still available by contacting the team's front office at (203) 334-GOAL or by e-mailing info@soundtigers.com.
