Lynx rookie forward David Maracle scored the first two goals of his pro career on Saturday night to lead the Augusta Lynx to a 3-1 win over the Charlotte Checkers in front of 3,392 fans at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center.

Maracle recorded the eventual game winner at 9:07 of the second period, shoveling home a rebound in front of the Checkers (7-5-1) net with help from Paul Kelly and Colt King to give the Lynx a 2-1 lead. Maracle also scored at 11:47 of the third period, again from Kelly and King to ice the win.

Joel Stepp got the Lynx (7-5-2) on the board at 2:18 with a shorthanded unassisted goal, the second in as many games for Augusta. Stepp raced in on Charlotte goaltender Pat Berrigan (18 saves), beating him blocker side for the 1-0 lead.

Mike Bayrack evened the game up at 1-1 at 15:10 of the first period for Charlotte's only goal of the game.
