Reading notches three power play goals in win

TRENTON, NJ - Despite scoring the first goal of the contest, the Trenton allowed the next five goals in a 5-1 loss to the Reading Royals in front of 4,622 at Sovereign Bank Arena.

After failing to score on four power plays early in the first period, the Titans took a 1-0 lead on Mark Lee's first goal of the season at 8:27 of the first period.

From there it as all Royals, Greg Hogeboom tied the score with a power play tally with 1:07 left before the first intermission.

Reading was able to extend their lead at the beginning of the middle period as Reagan Rome lit the lamp on a 5-on-3 advantage fifty-nine seconds in.

Chris Barr added his first of the season at 14:28 of the second on a delayed penalty.

John Francisco and John Morlang also recorded goals in the third period to complete the scoring.

Rejean Beauchemin stopped 27 of 32 in falling to 1-3-1. Cody Rudkowsky upped his record to 8-1 with 25 saves.

The Titans went 6-for-9 on the penalty kill and 0-for-5 on the power play.
