Bombers Open Early Lead, But Storm Rally In Toledo

Toledo, OH - The Dayton Bombers dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the Toledo Storm in front of 4,179 at the Toledo Sports Arena Saturday night. Bombers goaltender Mike Brown helped Dayton salvage one point in the standings with 53 saves.

The Bombers struck first when veteran defenseman Alex Johnstone blasted a shot past Storm goaltender Logan Koopmans from outside the blueline at 14:32 of the first period.

The Bombers opened a 2-0 lead when Tyler Scott scored his second goal of the season just 36 seconds into the second period. The Storm battled back when Bracken Kearns made it a one-goal game, 2-1, at 13:02. Jay Latulippe was awarded a penalty shot with 6:52 remaining, but Koopmans made the stop. Then, two minutes after the penalty shot, Jeff Attard tied the game at two with his seventh goal of the season.

After a scoreless third period, Jeff Lang recorded his first professional goal at 2:01 of overtime as the Storm rallied for the 3-2 OT win. Toledo outshot Dayton, 56-31.

The Dayton Bombers, proud "AA" affiliate of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets, are celebrating their 15th Anniversary this season.
