Bombers Drop Home-Annd-Home Series To Wheeling

Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers dropped a 4-2 decision to the Wheeling Nailers at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Friday Night, and one lucky fan from Union, Ohio was presented an autographed jersey and a pair of season tickets for being the 2,000,000th fan in franchise history.

The late arrival of the Wheeling Nailers appeared to have no affect on the North Division leaders as they jumped out to a an early lead on the Dayton Bombers at the Nutter Center. Daniel Fernholm netted his first goal of the year at the 6:54 mark of the first to give the Nailers a 1-0 lead at the end of one.

In the second period Sean Collins gave the Nailers a 2-0 lead at the 3:02 mark. The goal was Collins sixth of the season. Later the Bombers tied the game with powerplay goals by Marco Caprara (10:38) and Scott Cameron (17:05), before Eric Sonnenberg gave the Nailers the lead back at 19:07 of the second.

In the third ,Sean Collins ended all hopes for a Bombers comeback with his seventh goal of the year and second of the night. The 4-2 win completed a weekend sweep of the Bombers for the Nailers who defeated Dayton on Wednesday night 5-3 in Wheeling.

The Dayton Bombers, proud "AA" affiliate of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets, are celebrating their 15th Anniversary this season.
